Sunday Worship
9:00 a.m. Traditional Worship
This service features traditional hymns and liturgy, for members who prefer a traditional approach to their Sunday worship routine. It is also the service which appears (tape-delayed) on WDAY-TV 6 at 11:00 a.m. Communion is served weekly.
10:00 a.m. Faith Builders

Messiah offers Sunday School for ages three years through fifth grade. We use a lectionary-based curriculum for younger students so they study the same lessons used during worship services. There is a strong emphasis on crafts, music, Bible usage and prayer.
Three year olds through Kindergarden students study the "more classic" Bible stories, i.e. "Jonah and the Whale","Noah's Ark","Feeling of the 5000" to mention a few.Hands on activities and music are important to their spiritual nurturing.

Sunday School begins at 10:00 AM with Children's Chapel prior to being dimissed to classrooms/ learning centers.
Grapple

Join us each Sunday as we "grapple" with the difficult issues that you are dealing with each day. Come learn a biblical perspective and how your peers have chosen to handle the same difficult choices.

We meet at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays in the Youth Room.
Adult Bible Study
Adults in our congregation are invited to attend an Adult Forum, held between services each Sunday morning. With the help of a leader, participants have an opportunity to study the Bible. No homework is assigned so feel free to come even if you cannot attend every week. The Adult Forum takes place in the Conference Room at 10:00 a.m.
11:15 a.m. Contemporary
An alternative to formal Sunday morning services, our Contemporary Worship service at 11:15 a.m. is geared to anyone who loves to sing, clap and be an active participant in the worship experience. Hymns ranging from country to gospel, blues to folk and rock are accompanied by a band. Our goal is to have fun as we share our faith with friends. Communion is served weekly.

Getting Involved
Acolytes
Acolytes bring in the processional cross, assist with Holy Communion, light the altar candles and assist with the Sunday offering. Junior High Youth volunteer for these tasks as part of their requirements for Confirmation.
Altar Guild
The Altar Guild assists in preparing the altar area for worship services including preparation for the Sacrament of Baptism and the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Two persons are assigned to a month and are contacted in advance by the chairpersons. If you are interested please contact the church office at 701-237-6770.
Liturgists
Liturgists read the Sunday morning announcements at the beginning of each worship service and lead the congregation in the liturgy. Readers are provided with a list of announcements in advance, so they feel comfortable reading them in front of the congregation. If you would like to serve in this way, please contact Linda Lou at 701-237-6770.
Communion Assistants
Communion Assistants help in the distribution of the elements of Holy Communion. If you would like to be trained to serve in this area, please call the church office at 701-237-6770.
Lectors
Lectors are volunteers who read scripture lessons at each service. They are given the texts in advance, so they feel comfortable reading them in front of the congregation. Everyone is welcome to read.
Ushers
Ushers assist during Sunday morning services and occasional midweek services. Ushering includes greeting members and visitors as they enter the Sanctuary, handing out bulletins, seating worshipers, gathering the offering and generally making sure the worship service is a positive one for members and visitors.

Worship and Music Committee
The Worship and Music Committee consists of people who are interested in and willing to help organize the volunteers who participate in our worship services. The committee encourages anyone interested in serving in this capacity to contact them.

Worship

Worship is at the center of the spiritual life. It’s an opportunity for people to come together, share their faith, and renew their personal connection with God. At Messiah, parishioners have the opportunity to worship in ways that match their own preferences.

Traditional worship services take place each Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. This service features traditional liturgy and hymns that many of us grew up singing in church. At 11:00 a.m., we hold a Contemporary Service with contemporary music and a more relaxed atmosphere.

During the summer months, we hold just one Traditional Sunday service (9:30 a.m.) but add a Wednesday evening 7:00 p.m. Contemporary Worship service outside on our east lawn. Wednesday evening Lenten services and other holiday services are also available at designated times.

Wednesdays		Worship on Wednesday (WOW) will begin on June 5th @ 7:00 PM. We'll meet on the East Lawn for worship. If weather is inclement - we'll gather inside.
