Getting Involved
Messiah Supper Club
The Messiah Supper Club is an intergenerational dinner group established to create fellowship opportunities for meeting other Messiah members outside the worship setting. Members, in groups of 10-12, get together for supper, brunch or dessert. In the process, they enjoy friendship, fellowship and fun. Group members take turns serving as “host,” so everyone has a chance to get involved.
Young in Heart
Young In Heart is a special group of members who are 55 years and older. Meetings are held four to five times a year and consist of a potluck supper followed by entertainment and games. A volunteer committee of four plan the activities for each meeting, and a freewill offering is taken to cover any costs. Then, once a year, accumulated funds are given to a special project or to people in need. The club is a great way to meet people and enjoy fellowship.
WELCA

Women of Messiah are all members of WELCA; Women of the ELCA. General meetings are held roughly four times a year, and special programs are prepared at that time. the board which is composed of the Circle leaders, meets monthly (excluding summer month) at 7:45 am on the first Tuesday of each month.
As a group, WELCA sponsors the Great Giveaway each fall. Many of our members also commit themselves each month to studying God's word from Lutheran Woman Today by attending one of the Circles that meet on the second week of the month.
Quilters of Messiah
Quilters of Messiah meet each Wednesday morning (September-May) at 8:30am to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief, New Life Center, Dorothy Day House, Churches United for the Homeless and local families in crisis. The coffeepot is always on, and many good recipes are exchanged. Everyone is welcome.
Serving Task Force

The ministry of hospitality and fellowship is the responsibility of every Messiah member. To encourage involvement, each family is assigned to our serving task force during one month every year. In all, about 30 families make up the task force in any given month.
During their month on the task force, volunteers may be asked to serve refreshments between Sunday services and assist with funeral and wedding receptions, potlucks, etc. When called to help, many families are generous with their time. These volunteers are greatly appreciated!
Evangelism Committee
The Evangelism Committee welcomes all people to worship God and to spread the message of the Gospel while deepinging the faith of our membership at Messiah. Through programs such as our Messiah Supper Club and Friday Morning Prayer Breakfast the committee works to provide members of the Messiah family with opportunities for fellowship, belonging and growth together in their faith. We also help to integrate new members into our church family. This committee makes decisions about how to promote knowledge of Messiah Lutheran Church in the community.

Fellowship

The Christian life is an active one, not a passive pursuit. Worship, fellowship and stewardship of the talents God has given us are all essential to our own individual spiritual growth and to the growth of our church.Each of us has a gift we can offer. As Christians, we are called to use those gifts to the glory of God.

At Messiah, we strive to provide fellowship opportunities for individuals within the church community. Each activity is meant to help its participants grow together in faith and belonging. From Bible studies to youth activities, choirs to our Supper Club, members are sure to find activities that suit their own personality, strengths and preferences.
