Council Liaisons
Christian Edu. Committee

The Christian Education Committee oversees all of the youth and adult educational opportunities at Messiah. These include such activities as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth and Adult Forums, Small Group meetings, Bible studies, our resource library and more. The goal is to help each member continually grow intellectually and spiritually in their walk with Christ.
Evangelism Committee

The Evangelism Committee welcomes all people to worship God and to spread the message of the Gospel while deepinging the faith of our membership at Messiah. Through programs such as our Messiah Supper Club and Friday Morning Prayer Breakfast the committee works to provide members of the Messiah family with opportunities for fellowship, belonging and growth together in their faith. We also help to integrate new members into our church family. This committee makes decisions about how to promote knowledge of Messiah Lutheran Church in the community.
Health Ministry Committee

The Health Ministry Committee is committed to the healing ministry of the church melding health, science and spirituality. Health ministry works globally, community wide and through Messiah Lutheran Church.
Property Committee

The Property Committee is charged with the care of most of the physical assets of the church. Generally, the Property Committee cares for the landscaping, parking lot, buildings and all personal property, except those specifically the responsibility of another committee or group. The Property Committee also takes care of insurance, inventory, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical work.
The committee is always looking for members (not necessarily committee members) with a special skill or talent to help in these respects. Anyone with a skill or desire to serve should let us know.
Social Ministry

The Social Ministry Committee coordinates the efforts of volunteers from our congregation in programs throughout the community. Examples include serving a meal once a month at Churches United for the Homeless, helping in many capacities at the F-M Emergency Food Pantry, sending birthday cards to the 60+ age group of the congregation and sending people on Global Mission Events. The committee also raises funds to combat world hunger through the CROP Walk and special offerings, help Christians in Palestine by providing an outlet for their artisan works, and much more
Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee is involved in the planning of our Fall Stewardship Campaign, ongoing stewardship education and the development of each year’s budget. Committee members handle pledges, count offerings, call parishioners and do periodic temple talks on the importance of stewardship in the congregation.
Worship and Music Committee

The Worship and Music Committee consists of people who are interested in and willing to help organize the volunteers who participate in our worship services. The committee encourages anyone interested in serving in this capacity to contact them.
Youth

“Let the children come unto me, and forbid them not.” Young people play an important part in God’s kingdom here on Earth. Ensuring that we live up to that expectation is the work of our Youth Committee. The Youth Committee oversees a variety of youth- and family-oriented programs at Messiah. A team of energetic college volunteers, committed parents and youth leaders are led by a youth director and the Messiah pastors in a cooperative effort to make Messiah a youth-friendly place.
