Youth Education
Sunday School(Age 3-5 Grade)
Messiah offers Sunday School for ages three years through fifth grade. We use a lectionary-based curriculum for younger students so they study the same lessons used during worship services. There is a strong emphasis on crafts, music, Bible usage and prayer.

Three year olds through Kindergarden students study the "more classic" Bible stories, i.e. "Jonah and the Whale","Noah's Ark","Feeling of the 5000" to mention a few.Hands on activities and music are important to their spiritual nurturing.
We are excited to begin our sessions at 10:00 AM with Children's Chapel prior to being dimissed to classrooms/ learning centers.
Grapple(Middle School)

Come “grapple” with us as we dive into the Bible to get answers to your biggest questions about God, others, faith, the Bible and your own life. Face tough questions such as “What makes Jesus so cool?” and “Why are Christians so fake?” Come for hang time, games, video clips, small and large group discussions and a prayer and dare for the week. Then, continue grappling online throughout the week at Messiah’s private and secure site at www.mygrapple.com. Grapple meets Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Youth Room. A breakfast snack is served.
Confirmation
Confirmation begins in the fall of a student’s seventh grade year. Middle school students enjoy three years of Wednesday night fellowship and study. Wednesday events include Theme Events with a Biblical teaching and small group discussion, Fellowship and Servant events. Confirmation culminates with a mentor program and Faith in Life learning and interactive sessions before students affirm their faith on Reformation Sunday of their tenth grade year.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, we offer a week-long day or evening camp for children age 3 years through 5th grade. Bible lessons, music, crafts, games and so much more round out this week of fun and learning.
Adult Education
Continue in My Word
Continue in My Word is a weekly Bible study open to all adults. The group meets on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. Library at Trollwood Village. Discussions are facilitated by the pastor and center on the upcoming Sunday’s scripture lessons
Retired Men's Study
The Retired Men's Group meets weekly on Wednesdays at 9:00 AM in the Conference Room.
Women’s Circles
Women of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church are members of WELCA (Women of the ELCA). Many commit themselves to studying God’s word from Lutheran Woman Today by attending monthly Circle meetings. Four circles are available. These include Anna, Priscilla, Mary and Rachel. Contact the church office, 237-6770, for more information
Small Groups
To address topics of interest to our membership, we have created several small discussion groups. Groups cover a variety of issues and meet at various times throughout the week. Topics have included a Men’s Study, Marriage Enrichment, Christian Beliefs and more. Contact Linda Lou Colguhoun at the church office to learn more.
Fri. Morning Prayer Breakfast
On Friday mornings at 6:30am, members and guests are invited to join us for an informal session of prayer, fellowship and breakfast. The group meets at The Shack located in North Fargo. All are welcome to attend.
Summer Bible Classes
A variety of Bible studies are offered at various times during the summer. Some of our studies meet year round. Call the office at 701-237-6770 for more information on summer classes.
Christian Ed Committee
The Christian Education Committee oversees all of the youth and adult educational opportunities at Messiah. These include such activities as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Youth and Adult Forums, Small Group meetings, Bible studies, our resource library and more. We believe Chritian Education is a life long process.Our purpose is to support and nurture people of God regardless of age or condition of life.

Christian Education

The adults in our congregation enjoy continued growth in the Word through studying the Sunday scripture lessons in-depth at the weekly Continue in my Word. Many check out current and classic books and tapes from our church library, attend prayer breakfast on Friday, participate in a Sunday morning Adult Bible Study and take part in Bible studies and small group gatherings, as well. The women of Messiah are invited to participate in Book Club, a Women’s Bible Study and Circle meetings, too.

Fostering Faith

A growing faith requires constant nurturing — the kind provided by the Christian education programs at Messiah. From our youngest youth to our adult membership, the goal of our Christian education program is to help each member continually grow intellectually and spiritually in their walk with Christ.

40 Days of Love- Lenten Study

During the season of Lent, we invite you to participate in the "40 days of Love Journey." The six topics covered will be:

Love Matters Most;
Love is Patient- Love is Kind;
Love Speaks the Truth;
Love is Forgiving;
Love is Not Selfish;
The Habits of a Loving Heart.

"Value-Packed Parenting" - Raising Rock-Solid Kids in a Pleasure-Driven World

Join us for this 7-week study facilitated by Mary Berntson. The study meets on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM in Room 204 beginning March 7th. The topics for each weeks study are:

Week 1- The 10 Best gifts you'll ever give your kids.
Week 2- How to listen so kids will talk and how to talk so kids will listen.
Week 3- Discipline isn't spelled P-U-N-I-S-H-M-E-N-T
Week 4- 10 Ways to improve your child's self-confidence
Week 5- Caution: Anger Ahead!
Week 6- Birth Order- And what you need to know about it.
Week 7- Standing up to the new Goliath.

Bible Blitz

Bible Blitz meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:00 p.m., kindergarten through 5th graders are invited to participate in Bible Blitz, Room 204.

Karen Adamek will facilitate this opportunity for kids to dig in the Bible, experience the Bible lesson through drama, games, crafts computer and much more.
