In a world that often feels untethered and uncertain, where do we find our grounding? Where is home when everything feels adrift?

In the new year, we're embarking on a nine-week journey through the most familiar prayer in all of Christianity—the Lord's Prayer. But we're not simply reciting words we've known since childhood. We're discovering that this ancient prayer is an invitation to come home to the Father's house, where grace, provision, forgiveness, and hope await.
Each week, we'll unpack one phrase of this beloved prayer, finding fresh meaning in words that have shaped Christian hearts for two thousand years.
January 4/7 — Coming to Our Father's Home
"Our Father in heaven"
The Lord's Prayer begins not with our requests but with relationship. When we pray "Our Father in heaven," we step across the threshold of grace into the Father's house. Prayer isn't a cold duty—it's homecoming for the heart.
January 11/14 — The Holy Household
"Hallowed be your name"
In God's household, his name is both the family name we carry and the character we reflect. To hallow his name is to live as people who bear that name well—in our words, work, and worship.
January 18/21 — The Kingdom Keys
"Your kingdom come"
God's kingdom isn't a place we escape to; it's a reign that comes among us through word, sacrament, and service. We are given the keys to help unlock the doors of heaven into everyday life.
January 25/28 — Living by the Family Rules
"Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven"
The Father's will isn't a mystery to fear but a gift to trust. It's the order that makes the household flourish, bringing peace, direction, and unity to the family of faith.
February 1/4 — Supper at Home
"Give us this day our daily bread"
Around the Father's table—whether at home or at the altar—we learn that daily bread is about fellowship as much as food. The Father provides everything we need, physical and spiritual.
February 8/11 — The Family's Forgiveness
"Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us"
Forgiveness is the heartbeat of the Father's home—received from God and then shared with others. Grace is the rhythm that keeps the family together.
February 15/18 — The Father's Protection
"Lead us not into temptation"
Even in life's storms, God walks beside us, guiding and guarding us with faithful love. This is the prayer of a child holding the Father's hand.
February 22/25 — Deliverance and Return
"But deliver us from evil"
In a world shadowed by evil, the Father rescues, defends, and brings us home from all harm. Evil is not the final word.
March 1/4 — Home Forever
"For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever"
The prayer ends where it began—at home with the Father. We live now in gratitude and confidence, knowing the story ends in God's eternal glory.
Join us each week as we discover that the Lord's Prayer is more than a recitation—it's a roadmap home. Whether you've prayed these words a thousand times or you're hearing them with fresh ears, there's room at the Father's table for you.
