During this past Lenten season, we set a congregational giving goal of $5,000 in support of ELCA Good Gifts. We are pleased to share that through the generous contributions of our members, a total of $6,818.68 was raised — surpassing our goal by more than $1,800.

ELCA Good Gifts provides sustainable solutions to hunger, poverty, and economic hardship for communities around the world. The generosity of this congregation makes that work possible. We are deeply grateful for all who gave and for the faithful spirit that defines the Messiah community.
These gifts are more than just a donation: they are opportunities to change lives, offering sustainable solutions to hunger, poverty, and economic hardship.
With ELCA Good Gifts, we can make an impact like providing:
$10 for Chicks - Provides a family with chicks to create a steady source of eggs and poultry for food, as well as income when the eggs or chickens are sold.
$20 for Honeybees - Provides honey to eat, beeswax that allows a farmer to start a small business selling their products; and bees pollinate plants as they buzz around.
$30 for a Piglet - Provides a family with the opportunity to raise and sell pigs, which can be a critical source of income in rural areas.
$50 for a Goat - Goats are resilient animals that provide milk, meat, and even wool, and they can help families start their own small-scale farming business.
$250 for Fish - Fish farming allows communities to provide nutritious food while creating a sustainable source of income.
$500 for Cows - A cow can provide a family with fresh milk, helping nourish children and create income by selling milk and dairy products.
