This Lenten season, our Sunday School ministry is excited to partner with ELCA Good Gifts as part of Messiah’s special mission focus, “Noisy Change.” Through this incredible program, we have the opportunity to provide critical support to ministries and families around the world. ELCA Good Gifts allows us to purchase animals and resources that help communities become more self-sufficient through livestock and gardening.

Each week during Lent, our students will experience a brief lesson focused on a different animal that can transform a family’s livelihood — from providing milk and eggs to helping cultivate land and create sustainable income.
Our church family has set a goal to raise $5,000 to help purchase animals for communities in need.
This will be a fun, educational, and meaningful way for our students to see how their generosity can impact lives around the world.
From February 22nd – March 29th, Sunday School begins at 10:00am. You may need to sneak out of worship just a bit early!
What to Expect Each Week
Children will begin with music.
Teachers will then bring them to the Connection Center for a special 15-minute animal presentation featuring special guests - animals!
We’ll learn why each animal is important and how it helps families grow toward self-sufficiency.
Students will participate in a group activity and even enjoy a tasting experience connected to the lesson.
Children will return to their classrooms for pick-up at 10:55am.
A Note to Parents
To ensure a safe and respectful experience, please remind your child:
To give our visitors their full attention.
To remain quiet and calm around the animals (they are not pets and are not accustomed to being around children daily).
To raise their hand if they have questions.
If touching is allowed, they will be given that opportunity.
Lent is a beautiful season to reflect, grow, and give. We invite your family to join us as we learn, serve, and walk together in faith.
We can’t wait to see you Sunday!
With joyful anticipation,
Ms. Kim
